Let's Go Back To The Walton Era

Are you weary of hearing heart-wrenching events on the news?  Do you cringe when you see the reality of what our country is today?  Does your heart sink when you try to find something on television to watch that is positive and/or makes you feel good?  If so, you are not alone.

On a Sunday afternoon I found myself feeling gloomy.  Hubby wasn't feeling well and was going through some health issues and I just couldn't bear anymore bad news or some snarky remarks about how our country is going to go to pot, so to speak.  I needed some refreshment.  I am not trying to escape what is reality, but rather am having faith in God.  He knows exactly what is happening and I pray everyday for our country and it's leaders.

I slowly picked up the television controls and began to click through everything pretty fast.  Then something got my attention; It was a Walton wedding on one of the family channels.  I clicked on the record button thinking it couldn't be any worse than I had been watching.  I was a fan of the Walton's years ago but forgot so much of the story lines.

I decided to watch it now, instead of later.  As the story unfolded, my heart felt so happy because the Waltons had the same values as most of us did back in the day.  At last, something I could identify with! I felt refreshed and glad to see this story and welcomed it like an old friend.  It gave me hope and peace.   Maybe someday the world will find these values again or maybe they are not really gone but just dwarfed by the media and the bad guys, so to speak!

I encourage you to go back in time and be renewed by this heart-warming program that is woven with history (assination of John Kennedy, etc.) I am not sure where you could stream it from but you can google and find out.  There are other Walton Reunion programs you can watch and also Erin's wedding.

It was announced, also, that there will be a new  Walton Thanksgiving Reunion program this fall.
